Why is Russia / Turkey included?

Parts of both lie geographically in Europe (west of the Urals for Russia, east Thrace for Turkey), and they are commonly tested in Europe quizzes. We follow that convention rather than a strict EU-political definition.

The day's puzzle order is computed deterministically from the date, so everyone playing on /daily/2026-04-26 sees the same prompts in the same order.

Is the map to scale?

No. The map is a schematic grid that emphasises clickable shapes over geographic accuracy. We will move to a Natural Earth (CC-BY) map in a later update.

I see a country I don't recognise — is that a bug?

Probably not. The dataset includes microstates (Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City) and the wider European region. Hover the result for the country name.
